Was it Worth it?

Christian "Cebolla" Rodriquez has been omitted from Uruguay's World Cup squad in South Africa.

Cebolla was given a 4 match ban for a most brutal assault on Gabriel Heinze in the 3rd minute of injury time in La Celeste's final qualifier at home to Argentina.

Ceballo served two games of the ban in the playoff against Costa Rica.  The forceful winger would only have been available for selection in Uruguay's fina1 1st Round Group fixture against Mexico.

Uruguayos are torn about the decision.  Cebolla can change a game.  He could have given England a problem or two in the Quarter Final. 

Was it worth it?  No.  But there was a moment as I held my head in my heads, that I took a cheeky peek at Heinze writhing in agony and thought it must have seemed like a fine idea at the time.
