I was Robbed Last Night

I was robbed last night. Arrived at apt in Joburg at 5 am. I woke up at 10 am, the apt door was open, laptop gone. I have spent the morning going over surveilance tapes with the police. This makes continuing my work here problematic. I am dealing with changing passwords right now etc.  Anyone have any security advice? Can Apple freeze the machine remotely, for example?

here's what a friend wrote on my facebook page.

"If he has either Mobile Me with "back to my Mac" turned on or remote desktop installed, he can log on remotely and control/wipe things. If not, there's nothing Apple can do."
